A thousand apologies to everyone who still bothers following FYDLF, but I do owe an explanation for my absence. As I was returning to school last year, I underestimated how much work my classes would give out. It ended up being enough to make me cut back on many things, tumblr included (even my personal tumblr didn’t get much attention). By the time school was out and the whirlwind of the holiday season over, the football season was over. I did pay attention to the game during this time, and let me say that it was a great year we had. The Lions proved they’re not as docile as once thought, and that is what counts.

Between now and sometime during summer, I’ll post submissions and the odd thing periodically. Come summer, I’m going to open the blog to volunteers to help with posting and reblogging, to make sure that an absence like what happened this season will not happen again. (There will be screening though, so yeah.)

I thank everyone who has stuck around from the bottom of my heart, and I thank the Lions for giving us such a lovely season and such potential for next year. Here’s to another, even better, season in the months ahead!

Postgame queue is to come soon-ish. There’s homework I should take care of first.

Next weekend I will be nowhere near the internet for sure (last time I was lucky to get home before the game ended) and therefore I shall try to make the queue cooperate before heading up 75. I can only wish the Lions luck instead of my obnoxious liveblogging.

Yes, I know my liveblogging is obnoxious. I apologize to anyone from an opposing team who can’t find the joy in it.

New followers, welcome. Rules of engagement are found here. Basically, just don’t act like a judgemental douchebag and you’ll be fine. I also don’t like getting called out without just reason, so there is that too. Legit calling out is fine, ‘cause I make mistakes too, but just doing it to get my goat will just make the violent hockey fan in me come out (which is not cool and I do not enjoy becoming).

Remember: stay true to the silver and Honolulu blue! Until next time!

You wanna know what I say to this?

Nobody’s perfect. Right? We just have to look forward to next week! Good game, everyone!

That was ballsy, SanFran. I commend that.

Props, guys. Whether they come out with a touchdown or not, trying to make a fourth-down conversion takes guts. Doesn’t mean I want you to win… but I can still respect that.

Ugh… that’s a tough sack.

Third and twenty-five is not cool.

That’s right… touchdown!

This game…

Q
why are you running this blog if you're just a bandwagon fan that is looking to jump
Anonymous
A

Sorry, anon, but I’m not a bandwagon fan. It’s clearly not something I can prove on the internet, but I’m a product of the Barry Sanders years. I’ve been through the 90’s, the Harrington years, the Millen Debacle… I’ve ALWAYS supported my hometown Lions. This may be the year I get lost in the crowd, but I will still be there when the going gets tough.

I am not the bandwagon fan. I’m the bandwagon’s mechanic and driver. If you don’t like it, unfollow. I won’t be hurt.

Q
How do you feel about that touchdown that they just said was an incomplete pass? He got cheated out of that one
A

It brought me back to last year’s home opener before the commentators even brought it up. It was not cool.

Whaaaaat?! That was a touchdown!

I am not impressed, zebra. Challenge that all day long.

PICKOFF! HELLS YEAH!

Now that’s more like it! This is an awesome field position.

This is beginning to become a nostalgic kind of painful.

Please let it just be me, please let it just be me, please.

Uh… it looked like those guys were falling in sync instead of the defense tackling the guy.

He’s pulling up! Up I say! =/ Player safety is one thing, but come on.

One-point games are so intensely underrated.

THERE IT IS. I HAVE NEVER FELT SO GLAD TO SEE A FOXBOT COMMERCIAL. NOW LET’S DO THIS.

The Lions website just told me that it’s halftime and the 49ers are ahead by two.

Ugh… CABLE, COME BACK ON. I NEED TO VIEW THIS.
